There�s no denying that the World-wide-web has delivered the whole planet closer together. Not just is it an excellent source for like minded folks to disclose testimonies and insights with each other, its also a wonderful way of meeting your neighbours in the world neighborhood of which we�re all a part.

Today, when the newsreaders tell you that the folks of some distant territory are totally evil and conspiring to come to the house while you�re sleeping and kill you and everybody you care about in a variety of horrific ways, you do not have to merely sit back and believe it. More often than not, it is possible to just drop these far off people a line and ask them for yourselves. I usually find they mainly live very similar lives to my own, which mainly revolves around eating cereal, reading comic publications and listening to The Ramones all day long.

Another smart way to spread global peace and harmony is by waging all our future wars digitally, I advanced a theory some months ago (in an editorial for another site) that if we might have all our wars via �Call Of Duty� rather than in reality, the world could be a much better place. Then we might all go get some cereal (Personally, I�m into �Golden Grahams� in the mean time) and play The Ramones. We�re closer than ever to this dream, I feel, as well as gaming earphone revolution is offering us there on time.

So, with peace on Earth resolutely in mind, I decided to pick out the top three gaming headsets (with microphones) developed right now. Fight the power, brothers and sisters. Right on.

1) SteelSeries Siberia V2: If you�re a PC For the |General|Hardcore| gamer, you really can�t get it wrong here. Although the Siberia will set you back lots of cash (�70 to be precise), they are unequivocally the very best PC headsets around. They are not wireless, which does work alongside them, however the reviews, everyplace you search, are unanimously positive.
2) Turtle Beach X12: This pair will handle all sound from either your Microsoft xbox 360 or your Computer and can repeat crystal clear sound with pin dropping precision. They are pricey, but worth the money if you�ve got it to spare.
3) Logitech Vantage USB Headset: Now, if you have not got sufficient cash to have the funds for the other 2, I have incorporated this Logitech headphone intended primarily to be used with the Playstation 3. It includes a noise cancellation function with a very top quality microphone. It only has 1 speaker, but at lower than �20, it’s still a good quality mid range choice.

Obviously, there are lots of various models out there to select from, but according to what you prefer and just how much you would like to pay; they are most likely your greatest bets.

The headset for a Xbox 360, what you need to know?

Xbox has been something of a revelation since its initial release back in 2001. At the time, many of us (including this writer) had our doubts about the viability of a Microsoft gaming console. But Xbox got off to a cracking start and has since showed no signs of slowing down.

A case in point; the founders of this site had a friend who had asked his parents for a PS2 for Christmas and was incredibly disappointed on Christmas Day when he learned that they had mistakenly bought him an Xbox. Now however, some 12 years later, he is still an Xbox gamer and shows little, if any, interest in getting a PS3.

Why’s that then? Xbox is great for playing online, alone, or with a few friends and has successfully married the best of PC gaming with the best of console gaming. The games are enthralling, immersive multiplayer adventures that keep you entertained for hours…And therein lays the problem.

Y’see, although the online functions are absolutely incredible, you still need a headset in order to liaise with other players verbally. In addition, if you want to stay up past your partner’s bed time because you’ve ‘just gotten to the good bit’ (we’ve all been there), then you’ll also need a headset. Likewise, if your housemate or significant other is watching the TV and doesn’t want the atmospheric music and chilling sound effects of the latest Xbox release (for whatever reason), you’ll need a headset.

I suppose you can see the point that we’re (rather forcefully) trying to make here.

A headset really does open up a whole new dimension of the Xbox, or, at least, a good one does. A bad headset just sounds, well…Sketchy. How can you have fun listening to your enemies beg you not to grind them into the dust (as you grind them into the dust) when their desperate pleas are all crackly and static-y? Or, failing that, you might, mishear your squadron commander as you open fire on your own team and blow the mission straight to hell. Worse still, you’ll have absolutely no excuse when called away to take out the recycling in the middle of a high-pitched space battle. Yeah, you heard it (dammit).

You don’t just need a headset. You need a good headset.
